Our
Goats

Our small goat herd is bred for quality, not quantity. We keep Nubians chosen for their gentle temperament, productive milk lines, and suitability as both farmyard companions and working small-scale dairy animals.

Every herd needs a good leader, and our lovely gold Nubian doe fits the bill perfectly. As our herd queen, she keeps everyone in line with a calm, steady attitude rather than a dramatic one. She is relatively easy to handle, hasn't freshened yet, and holds a very special place in our hearts. Her official royal decree? More treats, please! Diane is the absolute epitome of what a sweet, gentle dairy goat should be. Hand-raised, she shares an incredible bond with humans and is a massive favorite for anyone who visits. Her upbringing shines through in her flawless temperament; she is incredibly calm, docile, and completely unbothered by the daily hustle and bustle of farm life.

When we say Diane is easygoing, we truly mean it, you can handle her in any situation. Whether it is trimming her hooves, administering routine care, or handling her in a tight space, she stands like an absolute professional with total patience. She completely lacks the usual dramatic flair that Nubians are famous for, choosing instead to be a steady, reassuring presence in our lives.

Dolores
Call name: Dolores
BreedNubian

If you thought her twin sister Diane was a sweetheart, Dolores takes affection to a whole new level. While Diane is perfectly calm and steady, Dolores is our ultimate snuggle bug. Hand-raised alongside her sister, Dolores acts far more like a loyal family dog than a goat. She is completely enamored with people and is always the very first to greet you at the gate, practically begging for love.

Dolores’s favorite thing in the world is physical affection. She will regularly lick and gently groom our hands and clothes, and if you sit down in the pasture, she will instantly curl up right next to you (or try to climb into your lap!) for a good scratching session. She possesses an incredibly tender, sensitive soul and has a magical way of making anyone who steps into the paddock feel entirely loved.

RoleCompanion

Small in size, huge in personality! 🐐
This little guy is the glue that holds our herd rotations together. He’s an absolute breeze to handle and makes the perfect companion. He spends most of his time keeping our buck company, but easily transitions to babysitting the doelings when duty calls. Don't let his size fool you, though - he's got plenty of heart and holds his own with the bigger goats!

Why
Nubian
Goats?

Truthfully, the ears suckered us in. But we weren't completely sold on Nubians until our first two had grown out a bit. They make ideal additions to almost any farm or hobby property, suiting the sometimes harsh Australian climate beautifully. Here are a few things we love about them:

Nubian

Striking, elegant, and full of vocal personality. Nubians produce a high volume of rich, creamy milk with a remarkably high butterfat content (typically averaging 4–5%), making it excellent for cheese-making. Distinctive for their long, pendulous ears and proud, Roman noses, their large stature and sweet disposition make them a standout favorite on any dairy farm.

Goat Milk Uses

Nubian goats are famous for their rich, delicious milk, which is a favorite for making homemade treats like creamy cheeses, thick yogurt, and fresh kefir. With their friendly, sweet natures and excellent milk production, a single Nubian doe can easily provide plenty of wholesome milk for the whole family to enjoy making them the perfect, lovable addition to a self-sufficient backyard homestead!
